So as I was watching epic videos on my
channel last night, I glanced down at my statistics. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised as to what I found!
I started with ShortForm on Valentine's Day, and I had high hopes that my ratings would be out of this world. I mean who wouldn't want to watch the funniest YouTube videos of all time? Only really boring people (or so I thought). That first week I received 39 views.
"Relax," I told myself. It's only my first week. It will surely pick up NEXT week.
Fast forward to 'next week.' For some reason, people just weren't in the mood to laugh that week because I only had 29 views.
So over the weekend I did a little thinking about how successful this channel could be if apparently no one was interested in humorous videos.
But I carried on and kept posting YouTube sensations. After I noticed many girls in my
sorority were singing "
Hamster on a Piano," I decided to check my statistics. By Wednesday morning I had already gotten 47 views on my channel! I was so surprised.
It just made me realize that I'm still very new to ShortForm, as is the rest of the world (it's a
new company based out of San Francisco - not even a year old yet!).
I will surely have my down weeks, but I now have a renewed hope in my fellow Americans that they can all appreciate a good laugh once in a while.
For the sake of my sanity, I just hope that 'once in a while' is often...
